Firefly 5K Walk/Run

Smyrna's Downtown Renaissance Association is sponsoring a Firefly 5K walk/run benefiting Smyrna PAL on Wednesday, May 28th, with registration beginning at 6:30 PM. For more information, go to www.trisportsevents.com.

Rehabilitation of Commerce Street to Begin

The Department of Transportation announced that there will be daytime lane restrictions on Commerce Street between U.S. Route 13 and Glenwood Avenue in Smyrna.

The project will consist of curb ramp repairs to meet compliance guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act, old pavement removal and placing new hot-mix pavement.

The project will begin on Monday, May 12, and will end on August 28, weather permitting.  The work hours will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.  The contractor may work on weekends.  The contractor for these improvements is Mumford & Miller.

Motorists are advised to expect lane shifts and delays.
